Announcing our new new Executive Director Kathryn Chapman

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the journey of Innovate Cambridge as we appoint Kathryn Chapman as our new Executive Director. Kathryn will lead Innovate Cambridge as the custodian of our innovation strategy and convenor of our vibrant ecosystem. With Kathryn at the helm, we are poised to accelerate our mission to ensure pioneering discoveries are successfully translated into local and global impact, and to realise the full potential of Cambridge.

Kathryn joins us from a distinguished career in diverse leadership and strategic roles across the public and private sectors. Following a successful research career at the University of Manchester, Harvard Medical School, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and GlaxoSmithKilne, Kathryn has played a pivotal role in shaping inclusive innovation landscapes, building cross-disciplinary communities, and creating novel models to remove barriers to innovation.

She has spearheaded numerous initiatives across Cambridge and beyond that have propelled start-ups, entrepreneurs, and businesses towards international success, including the UKRI Research Council, NC3Rs, the Milner Therapeutics Institute, the University of Cambridge and the Babraham Research Campus.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Kathryn, who will start full time at the end of the summer. Together, we will continue to build a thriving ecosystem where ideas flourish and visions become reality.
